Hi,

Can someone please clarify something for me ?

I will be going bankrupt soon and if you are familiar with my story you will know a big reason is down to my gambling addiction, now my wife who lives in our family home with her new partner, i left last october and the deeds were signed over from me and her to him and her last dec is under the immpression that if i do go bankrupt it will somehow leave a black mark against both the house and her credit rating is there any truth in this as i still care for her deeply and would not want this ?

Thanks
Scott

I would like to add i tried to file a notice of disassociation this week with the agencies, but as myself and hubby have a joint mortgage they would not do it.

They are prepared to look at it again when it is just in my hubbys name.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing

No there will not be,but as per my earlier reply she can file a 'notice of dissassociation' with the 3 main reference agencies to give her piece of mind

Thanks Melanie,

So just to be sure there is no black mark (for want of better expression) against the actual property in any way only she seems to think there could be and my children still live there

Thanks
Scott

You rbankruptcy is personal to you and recoded only against your name. If however there are any joint debts with your former partner they will be liable for the debt under 'joint and several liability' technically your bankruptcy should have no effect on either your former partner or her 'new' partner. If they have concerns they can record a 'notice a dissassociation' with the 3 main credit reference agancies.
