Hi, my husband and I are both filing for BR but we are struggling at the moent to find the money for the fee. I am currently on JSA but it is the contribution based type...not income based. Do I presume correctly that this means I will not qualify for a reduction in the fee at court? We have stopped paying our unsecured creditors, but as we are keeping the house, we are still paying our mortgage and secured loan, which leaves us little to put aside after other utility bills etc.
Also, I have seen mentioned on here that the CAB can advise on gaining assistance with the charges through the utility companies??? I have been trying to get hold of someone to talk to at our local CAB but it is proving quite difficult! Thanks, I am starting to panic as we have crossed the line of no going back and I am anticipating pressure from our creditors and court summons, not sure how long its going to take us to get the money together.  x |

Hi Daisy
Why not give the helpline a call or one of the inhouse experts....you will find their numbers on the experts page.....Im sure they will all speak to you FREE for your initial chat and that should clear up alot of your worries and make way for your road ahead.
I too have heard certain utility companies will fund the fee, however am not sure how you would go about getting it sorted.

According to the Insolvency website, you need to be on income support to have the Court Fee waived, you will still have to pay the £345 admin fee, and that of course applies to both of you.
CAB should know of some charitable trusts who may be able to help yo with the costs.

Hi
Have you tried the national debt helpline?
When I first looked at BR it was a total "over my head" experience - it was impossible to get a CAb meeting as they only opened 3 days a week and at odd times.
NDHL is phone based - impartial and I found pretty helpful...
Worth a try maybe?
