Posted - 10 February 2009 : 18:39:29 Can you declare bankruptcy if you have a job? I've been on a debt management scheme for several years and my old bank (Natwest) have refused to stop charging keeping me in debt. Is there any escape?

Posted - 10 February 2009 : 18:46:04 Yes you can go BR with a job and many people do. However there are jobs you cannot do if BR, mainly in the financial or licenced industries.
What I would suggest you do is contact the Helplin (number at top of page) or one of the agencys such as Reviva or Melanie at Jones Giles and they can give free advice as to your options.
