Posted - 11 February 2009 : 08:22:23 I notified my creditors in December that was no longer able to maintain the payments on the informal payment plans that I have set up due to a relationship breakdown. I am now getting telephone messages to contact them. Should I tell them that I am in the process of filing for bankruptcy or should I wait and let the OR do it.

If bankruptcy is your intention and you are starting the process, yes tell your creditors if they contact you what your intentions are - in that you are inthe process of filing your petition in bankruptcy - this will get them to back off, usually there is a complete change in attitude from creditors (the ones demanding payment) Hope this helps
