Posted - 17 March 2009 : 13:03:02 Hello,
Can anyone tell me how long it takes, once you have had the meeting with the OR, for the IPA/IPO payments to come into effect. I am still waiting for my OR meeting after being declared BK 2 weeks ago and I just wondered how long I can expect to wait until I start paying into an IPA? In the meantime, can I do what I like with any disposable income I may have?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Posted - 17 March 2009 : 13:59:00 Thanks Melanie. I'm hoping the IPO won't be agreed until after Easter as I am planning to have a few days off work and going away with my partner and relax after everything that has happened over the past few months. Nothing extravagant, just a few days out and maybe stay in a B&B for a night or two. I really am starting to feel so much more positive and actually looking forward to the future now. I'm under no illusions the next 3 years are going to be easy, but I have become so used to budgeting now, that even an IPO is going to be better than what I've been used to until now.
Here's to a new beginning and a life free of debt.
Thanks again!

Posted - 17 March 2009 : 13:09:18 Hi Xmas Baby there is no set time limit for the IPO to be put in place but it is usually within the first 3 months - not much help to you I'm afraid, the good news though the money is yours until then!! it is not backdated in any way shape or form and the payment only to be made once the IPO order made - so treat yourself!
