I've just had my interview with my case reciever. He wants to take my car away from me and dispose of it even though it's an old banger and is essential for my work. The problem seems to be that I'm currently unemployed and therefore can't prove a need for the car. I'm normaly self-employed in the film industry and losing my car could scupper my chances of finding work. Is there an appeal process that could help my case?

Go back through to the OR's office put your case to keep the vehicle to the examinre, if you get no joy ask to speak to the Assistant Official Receiver and explain to him fully why there is a need for you to retain the vehicle for future employment opportunities. It can and does work to challenge the decision if you have a justifiable means, future employment possibilities is classed as justifiable means. let me know how you get on
