I know this might sound strange but which court do you have to file for BR in?

Does it have to be yor local county court? I've read somewhere you can do it in London?

The reason I ask is, I work in London during the week and travel back to my home town for the weekend. If I file in London does my name still appear in my local paper as well as the London Gazette?

Thanks again

Sorry convenience is not an allowable reason for using the High Court. They will send you away with a flee in your ear, you will have wasted 3 hours queing up and will have to go through the process of claiming your fees back ( takes a few weeks )

London take the fee first then go through the petition in a different building

By the way, the advertisement is not some massive advertisement. I was worried about that but firstly it didnt appear in my local paper but even if it did, I looked at the ones that where there and it is a case of you will only see it if you are looking for it. Like a lonely hearts advert!

You probably could do it on London on the grounds that you cannot get to local court during opening times though, look into it..

Hi
you cannot petition at the High Court as a matter of personal choice alone. Once upon a time this may have been the case but with bankruptcy numbers escalating as they are you may only avoid your local court that holds jurisdiction over the postcode you reside in in extreme circumstances.

Not all county courts deal with bankruptcy so you need to contact your local CC and ask which court does hold jurisdiction in your case.

Even when one is authorised to petition at the High Court the advertisement would still appear in your local paper.

I think you can do it in London, and I believe that it will also appear in your local paper as well.

The glimmer gets brighter all the time
