bonus payment.good afternoon i currently went br in january this year, and today have been informed that we will be getting a works bonus which will work out about 700 after tax.any idea how much the or will take of this.currently i have no ipa implemented as my disposable income is nill.we currently are surviving on my partners wages, which after she has paid her own weekly outgoings leaves us struugling.my income covers all the bills mortgage etc.she has also been told that her job is under threat and it looks like she will begoing on a shorter working week.this will leave us really struggling.should i ring the or and will they take my partners circumstances into account.thanks

RTLU have taken my entire 2K bonus off me. Said it was an asset, not income.

That is correct. This payment is over and above your normal earnings so in my view is a windfall.

I do not believe it will be looked at as regular earnings and therefore subject to a monthly ipa

hello paul, when you mean forefit do you mean the or will want it all.

I suspect that the OR will view this as a windfall payment rather than basic income so while it won't effect the IPA it would probably be forefit.

You should report the bonus to the OR but it really depends upon the OR as to whether and how much they will take. If this is just a one-off payment then the OR may think it is not worth the paperwork and you can keep the whole amount.
