Posted - 01 May 2009 : 19:33:49 Hi, my bankruptcy ends tomorrow(thank god) my question is.. can i open a bank account and have a cheque book and debit card? if i am ALLOWED to have these would any bank actually give them to me.
my bankruptcy is over tomorrow with no BRO, BRU, IPA or anything else.

Posted - 01 May 2009 : 21:30:29 You could give Natwest a call, they pride themselves on looking at peoples finances on an individual basis, or norwich and peteborough building society may consider you too.

Your BR will remain on your record for 6 years from the date of your bankruptcy, so that might delay acceptance to a full account.
Give Barclays a call - I understand that they are ok with BR.
