Posted - 15 May 2009 : 17:53:24 Please could you advise me, I owe 15k to several creditors who have written to say that are going to persue a county court judgement against me or send in baillifs or put in a bankcrupcy claim against me, as i am on income support i am not able to make any payments at present, so my question is can the bailliffs come in and remove my furniture also what does it entail when the creditors file for bankcrupcy against a debtor, how much would i have to pay towards the bankcrupcy order.Thank you. |

From what you are saying it sounds like the 1st 'scare' letter than creditors send when you miss a payment however is should be taken seriously.
If you are on benefits and the debt is less than 15K then a DRO may be a better option than BR. |

Posted - 15 May 2009 : 18:11:30 Hi,
If creditors petition for your bankruptcy, it will not cost you anything - they have to bear all the costs.
As to bailiffs, they are limited as to what they can take.
Have a read of this and it will tell you about them:
