Myself and my husband were declared Bankrupt today. We are living in rented accomodation which we have moved to so that we can start our new job, fostering in our own home. We have been in this property for 3 months and have paid the rent in full and on time. We would like to know if it is 100% certain that the OR will tell our Landlord. If we asked our OR not to as our job is linked to our house is there any chance he may not tell Landlord? If OR has to tell Landlord then how likely is it that he will let us stay there? If the OR tells him we would like to tell the landlord ourselves before hand. Shall we wait to speak to OR or go ahead and contact landlord? Many Thanks

Hi

it is often the luck of the draw but the point of contacting your landlord is to establish that you are indeed the tenant, that your declared rental amount is accurate and that there are no arrears.

A copy of the rental agreement will confirm the first 2 and bank statements the 3rd so ensure the examiner sees both asap, then keep your fingers crossed.

I'm not sure how your home is linked to your job but
if it is I would have thought your landlord would be more interested in your skills as foster parents and his confidence in you both to maintain rental payments.
