The mortgage company have been pushing me to see this company for sometime.

He want's to come back next friday to discuss my debts??

What do they do? - no website etc..
Anyone had any experience of the company.

Any advise is very welcome.

Thanks

Hi Heno,

I've had a look around and this company are debt collectors. They may or may not come to your door as this is a scare tactic used by some collectors to get you to contact them. If they do come to the door you are not obliged to let them into the house and they do not have any rights to force entry, take property to pay for your debts, etc.

If you are unable to pay the mortgage and other creditors then you may have to file for personal BR but you should look at other options that may be available as well.

Contact the CCCS, CAB or National Debtline to get some advice on your situation. Unfortunately these companies are extremely busy at the moment so it may take a while to speak to someone. The other option is to discuss your options with the experts on this board. You can do this by selecting the 'experts' link on the left hand side of the page. These are professional Insolvency Practitioners who provide free advice and will be able to advice on your best course of action.

Hi there,
I were declared BR - 30th March 2009
i'm living with my wife, who is also br on the same day and live with our young son.
The house is in negative equity by approximately £15,000.
No, i declare BR due to high business debts (my wife - sole trader)and i lost my job on christmas eve 08 and not worked since.
we couldn't afford the monthly payments before and we still can't afford it now.

Thanks again.

Hi,

Unfortunately your post is going to result in some initial questions so that we can help you.

- When did you declare BR?
- Are you living alone or with someone else who is/not BR?
- Was the property in negative equity when you declared BR?
- Did you declare BR thinking that you could keep up with the mortgage repayments and then find you couldn't?
