hi all, im hoping someone can advise here.............we moved out of our house on dec 8th and got it exempt for 6 months, today we have a bill, we telephoned them and was told that we can only be exempt for 6 months, we explained that it was due in court this month for reposession and they told us that we are liable for any monies from the 1st june until we no longer own it ........... shocked and horrified at how much we may have to pay !!! as you are all aware as bankrupts we dont have dpare money laying around to pay council tax on a house that we dont live in !!!

any advise please

moving forward to new beginnings

This happened to me, I had to send a copy of my bankruptcy order in to the council and apply for a Class Q exemption, that is a property left by a bankrupt. I had to pay some of my bill to stop court action whilst they sorted it all out but did get a refund in the end
