Posted - 02 June 2009 : 22:44:49 Hi all ,
Some of you may remember me , i went BR on the 3rd Oct last year and so far all gone relatively smoothly with very little contact from my OR . Gambling was a major part of my BR and therefore know i will be in line for a BRU . My question is this ...I have today recieved a letter from my OR ( letter code in top right hand corner NTB1 )asking me to come for a further interview in two weeks time . It states the interviews normally last between 2 and 3 hours . Is this likely to be a standard letter and the interview will actually be to go thru the terms of my BRU or is it likely to be something more serious ? , ie further questioning re my debts ? Any advice from the experts would be appreciated . Like i say so far all gone smoothly enough ...have bought back the life insurance policies and been offered the BI in the house etc etc .. |

Posted - 04 June 2009 : 13:58:52 Hi Digman,
Useful to know what is happening to you as I seem to be in the same position. I went BK in early March and I have not heard anything about my BRO yet. I assume I will get one as a large part of my debt was through gambling. I too have a good relationship with my OR, although apart from the phone interview early on and a few short calls to her querying some things, I really haven't had that much contact with her. I am hoping I won't have to attend a further detailed interview somewhere along the line. I would rather just have the BRO slapped on me if thats going to happen.

Thanks for your replies . I was thinking along the lines that the 'further interview' would be something to do with an impending BRU , but just wanted others thoughts as the wording of the letter made me a little nervous . I would like to think i have had a good relationship with my OR who i have always found polite and helpful .

NTB1 stands for Notice To Bankrupt 1 - so nothing sinister there.
The have been called in for interview again to discuss the circumstances surrounding your bankruptcy again. They have been looking into your BRU and want to confirm a few of the things you admitted to and get another statement from you about the specific allegations they are intending to put.

Posted - 03 June 2009 : 11:07:44 The NTB1 form is one of the forms that you receive in the ORs pack after being declared BR and normally advised of the interview date. The interview is usually within a few weeks of the BR but they are permitted to contact you and request further information or an interview at any time before you are discharged (i.e. 12 months).
This OR must be extremely busy if they are only contacting you 8 months after BR but if you haven't had a previous interview then this will just be the standard interview. They can ask anything regarding your debt at the interview so they may need more information regarding your debts and could also mention the BRU if one is applicable. |
