Hi everyone,

I'm about to go BR, but prior to this, in an effort to save money, I moved in with 2 friends. I occupy the living room in a 2-bedroom flat and am not on the tenancy agreement. This is not a short term solution, and my friends and I have put something in writing for our own piece of mind.

Will this cause problems when the OR wants to contact the landlords, see a tenancy agreement, etc?

Hi,

This shouldn't be a problem. The OR will want to know if you contribute to the rent, utility bills, etc. If you mention that this is something that you have agreed with your friends then she may contact them but you don't have an arrangement with the landlord so she won't contact them. The OR only contacts the landlord to check if there is any outstanding rent in order to confirm that they are not a creditor.
