Posted - 09 July 2009 : 10:12:02 Hi all: I have a strange question that I am seeking advice for. I was discharged from BR in FEB 2009. Since Apr 2008 I had been paying an IPA into a Clarke Wilmotte account. Every month without fail. Then Moon Beaver took over!
They sent me 1 (one) payment slip asking me to send a cheque every month. What cheque? I barely have a bank account! Anyway I used this slip and wrote and asked for a book (Like with Clarke Wilmotte) I got no reply. I have since written 2 further times asking for some method of payment. I have also rang them once but the woman who I spoke to seemed to have less brain ability than a tadpole!
I am at present keeping aside the monthly payment but there will come a time where I say "stuff it". I have done all in my power to pat these people but they seem unwilling to take my money What do i do??? |

Posted - 09 July 2009 : 20:26:23 I have no intention of speaking to Moon Beaver again if I can help it, I'll be contacting the RTLU if my circumstances change as my case worker told me to speak to her if I need to.

Posted - 09 July 2009 : 19:31:51 hi just to clarify, The Insolvency service negotiated a new contract with moonbeever for collecting IPA's (and a few other things) last year.Initually this was for new IPA's only but as of this year they have taken over all the old instructions from Clarke Willmott. The Way it is "Supposed" to work is that after the IPA has been set up Moonbeever assume all resposibility for collection of monies and also the first point of call for collecting info when a change of circumstances happens although how much you pay is still decided by the OR. |

Posted - 09 July 2009 : 15:31:09 When Moon Beaver first contacted me with payment details the dates were wrong.
I then had to contact them to have my IPA reassessed and the person I spoke to obviously couldn't be bothered. He refused to send out a new I & E until I knew what my new salary would be, and told me that my pay slip wouldn't be enough, they would need a letter from my employer saying why my salary had changed. He also told me that I would have to put the money aside for that month's payment, and when I said how would I know how much, he said that was up to me!

Posted - 09 July 2009 : 15:24:41 Afternoon all,
I've heard quite a few people on here saying how bad they think Moonbeever have been in dealing with their IPA. Obviously I can only go by my own experiences, but I have to say I have had no problems so far when dealing with them and they seem to respond quickly to any questions I have regarding my IPA.
In reponse to the earlier mail, I too was confused when they initially asked me to send a cheque for the monthly payment (hum, could be tricky as my cashminder account doesn't allow cheque books, which they should know really). Anyway I set up a standing order and everything has been fine. I would recommend you do the same. That way at least you have proof of payments too.

Posted - 09 July 2009 : 14:38:13 My IPA was collected by Clarke Willmott until March this year when it switched to Moon Beaver. As far as I'm aware MB are now responsible for all IPAs.
Tim, please can you not put your contact details in your posts as only experts who have been ok'd by Admin are allowed to do this. Thanks!

Posted - 09 July 2009 : 12:52:21 Hi, normally my experience is that Clarke Willmott deal with the collection of Tax and Moon Beavor the IPA My advice would be to get the OR to sort it out and meanwhile put the money you should be paying into a Savings Account either at your bank or a Building Society like Nationwide for example This equally applies to the collection of Tax if you have a NT Tax Code that is not being collected.

Posted - 09 July 2009 : 10:23:32 Compared to Clarke Willmott Moon Beaver are useless - how they got the contract I'll never know.
I would cut out Moon Beaver completely and contact the RTLU as Gettingoutofdebt suggests. That's what I did when I had to have my IPA reassessed and they were fine about it, and didn't sound surprised when I told them why I'd contacted them.
I pay my IPA by standing order - would that be an option for you? It means you don't have to worry about paying in slips etc. I prefer standing order to direct debit as I'm in control of the payments - no way do I want Moon Beaver controlling what's taken each month!

Posted - 09 July 2009 : 10:16:12 Contact the RTLU and advise them of the situation. You need to make sure you keep the money for the IPA rather than spending it after a certain time and it will be reclaimed. Normally the easiest way to pay is by DD so see if you can set this up.
There is also a 'Contact Us' option on the MoonBeever website so you could try using this to advise of the issue - http://www.moonbeever.com/ |
