when would be the best time to change my wages over into the new bank account? before or after BR. I am going BR on the 17th August, my timesheet goes in on the 19th, and i get paid on the 26th. I've put on the SOA the account my wages usually get paid into. As this account will be frozen, can my employers still pay into it? And if i do change over now, does that mean i have to alter the SOA? I am currently in the process of transfering DDs to this new account, but not sure about wages.

No, i'm not putting this new account on the SOA. Dont want it frozen aswell. i leave the SOA as it is, and tell the OR after. Thanks everyone!

If the account is frozen then the payment will be bounced by the bank and returned to your employer. This happened to me once (my mistake putting the incorrect account number down) and it took me almost a week to get the money paid back.

I would transfer everything to the new account (is this a Co-op?) sooner rather than later and would probably get it transferred this month. This would give you a bit of leeway in case there are any problems.

Are you putting the details of the new account on the SOA? If so then there is a good chance that it would be automatically frozen for a short time even if the OR tells the bank they do not have an interest in it.

I changed mine over after BR as I didn't want to risk any problems with the account being frozen.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
