Posted - 22 July 2009 : 17:28:53 the following is taken from a letter from the solictors representing the insolvency service - does this mean i need to arrange this myself or is this done by their solicitors.... As the property is solely owned, both the legal and beneficial interest vest with the Official Receiver. You will therefore require the services of a solicitor to obtain the consent of the mortgagee, deal with the completion and submission of the Stamp Duty Land Tax Return and register the Transfer at the Land Registry. Until registration of the Transfer the property will remain vested with the Official Receiver and the legal formalities not concluded.

Posted - 22 July 2009 : 15:29:45 You are only give the option to have one if you really want one - there is no actual need. Many people here on the forum will confirm that they have not ussed a solicitor for this purpose, it is a very straightforward process by the OR - Why incur unnecessary fees?
