Hello all

I posted a question yesterday and have not had any replies.

I am very stressed this week as happens from time to time - relationships get tense at home etc - no replies to job applications and a feeling of low esteem. I am normally quite confident, but feel very low as does my wife.

I have cut the postinto today and ask if anyone can shere their advice/experience. My wife rang the ORs office yesterday and the person she spoke to is calling her back this afternoon - that is causing more stress!!

Hello all,

We have two properties, a BTL and our principal home.

I am BR and not my wife the ownership of both properties is in joint names.

My wife is buying the BI in the principal home and she has paid over the £212.00 fee - we are awaiting a response.

I am not sure what the implications of the B178 Notice are - I had thought that my wife could buy the BI in the Buy to Let too - it is in border line negative equity

Any advice or shared experiences welcome

Regards, Richard

Thank you and I appreciate this forum - it has given me a crutch when needed, Richard

Cheers gettingoutofdebt

Have started to accepted the life change as much as I can.

We have already been told it will be an automatic discharge and as I am not working at present, no IPA/IPO - that may well change, of course if I start to earn £100K...

In the meantime its onwards and upwards

Thank you again and thanks to all who post on this site - it really is an excellent forum and sharing your inner soul does actually help!

Regards, Richard

No problem Richard,

We have all been through the same process and know that it can be a bit too much at times. It took me about 6 weeks after declaring BR to start to feel 'normal' again but once the BI is sorted and any IPA is in place you will feel much better and then it is just a case of waiting for the discharge.

Hi all

Thank you for the replies - it hit us on a low day and I thought I knew what it meant...BUT when you are low, you think all sorts of thisngs and this has been one of those "testing" weeks - nothing gone wrong really, simply a bit fed up - drove past the old business premises this week and a new fascia sign up - makes you think a bit!!

Thanks also to gettingoutofdebt too for mentioning checking earlier postings...

Regards, Richard

There is a thread regarding this notice a few months ago - http://www.bankruptcyhelp.org.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5891

Don't forget that chances are that most questions have already been answered so if you don't get an immediate answer then try searching the older posts.

never heard of a B178 notice, but the wife should be able to buy back the interest in the BTL property the same as the residential property

I am not 100% sure but I think this notice is registered by the OR with the Land Registry and is used to stop you selling the property until the BI has gone through.
