Posted - 21 August 2009 : 09:43:43 I had to pay my insurance up front this year as the Co-op credit checked me and obviously I failed. It didn't really matter though as it was so much cheaper than Churchill - I saved nearly £150.

Most people, BR or not, pay by monthly instalments - should not be a problem for you

Posted - 21 August 2009 : 07:20:21 You are obliged to tell creditors if you are obtaining credit of more than £500 when BR so if your yearly insurance cost is more than this you will have to tell them.
Some insurance companies will check the insolvency register and do a credit check so the chances of them accepting you for monthly repayments is slim.
I don't have any experience of paying monthly for car insurance when BR but I am sure others do and will let you know if they have done this with any companies.
