Hi I recived a letter from inland revenue in June to inform me on my NTC. I thought that I would of had my first pay at the end of June without any tax paid but I still paid it.

Recieved the same letter again at the start of this month so thought that I would definalty not have paid tax this month, but got my payslip today and I am still paying tax.

How long after you recieve your letter from inland revenue is it before you stop paying tax, I get paid monthly. I know everyone is different but I was first informed in June by them and its going to be end of Sept at earliest now.

Thanks

Mick

The HMRC installed a new IT system (to streamline their processes, according to their recorded message ) at the end of June.

Apparently they are now so back-logged that they are 8 weeks behind in opening their post!

My bankruptcy order was made on the 3rd July and, although, my OR has said she has sent off the NT notice mid-July to the HMRC they haven't got around to opening it yet

Hi Mick,
Yes I felt it was a long time too. I imagine it is just the mammoth amount of people in our situation so the Inland Revenue are probably snowed under. I am just waiting for Moonbeever to contact me about paying this months Tax then hopefully I can arrange for the Standing orders for all subsequent months to be paid at the same time as my normal IPA. Good luck, sure you will hear soon.

Hi ya. I went BR on 7th April. I have been paying tax right up to this month (August). I got a letter from the Inland Revenue a couple of weeks ago which had missed my July's salary but this month as of 21st am on NT code. I have sent my salary slip off to Moonbeever so am waiting for them to tell me how and what to pay. I am keeping my average amount I normally pay to tax so I can then pay them straightaway and then will set up a standing order for the rest of the financial year hopefully to coincide with my normal IPA.
Good luck.

Hi Mick - when did you go BR? My husband and I were at the beginning of June and he too has not received a NTC - he hasnt even received a letter from the Inland Revenue. Do they always write before giving NTC?

Hope someone can help you shortly.
