Posted - 25 August 2009 : 22:22:03 We had one for £1 that my husbands (now deceased)great grandad bought for him the day after he was born, but the OR made us give it up, even though we offered to pay for it. More than anything,we wanted it for sentimental value. He did win £50 on it when he was 22 though, so overall it did pay out lol.

Posted - 25 August 2009 : 22:04:32 I was actually allowed to keep mine if my partner paid for them - as it was only £12 he didn't mind!
I think that's the exception rather than the rule though.
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Posted - 25 August 2009 : 21:50:47 hi
Yes, you will be obliged to inform the OR about these premium bonds
Have you checked to see if you have won anything recently? ( a joke sorry!)

Posted - 25 August 2009 : 21:47:23 Hi,
Yes you will, and the OR will probably want them to pay across to your BR.
The glimmer gets brighter all the time
