I am a pensioner thinking of going bankrupt. I have a standard bank account with a debit card. I have no credit cards. I have no assetts. I live in private rented acomodation. Would my bank be informed? and would my Landlord be onformed?

Your bank would be informed and the account would probably be closed. People who are BR are only allowed basic accounts, which is an account with a debit card, no cheque book and no OD.

The Co-op Cashminder is the main account that a lot of people open as it is very BR friendly.

Your landlord may be notified but this is really up to the OR. If you can get a copy of your rental agreement and provide this along with bank statements to the OR showing you are not in arrears with your rent then the OR may not contact your landlord.
