Posted - 29 August 2009 : 21:53:23 Hi Mark,
Some tenancy agreements have clauses to say you cannot hold a tenancy as an un-discharged bankrupt.
I do not think though that many landlords are likely to look at this retrospectively.
If your rent is up to date and covered by Housing Benefit, I am sure you will be fine.
If your landlord/agent do say anything post in here and someone will give you advice
As to employment - as kallis3 has said your tax code will change and there are a number of reasons for a NT code as far as I am aware. In the event of there being any clause within your employment contract about BR, then you may have to disclose it - otherwise I doubt if you will have a problem
As kalllis3 has said, make an anon call to your HR people to see if they have a view about employing a BR person
Good luck to you and yours, Richard

You will still be able to claim tax and housing benefit - bankrutpcy has no effect on those as far as I am aware.
It depends on what your employment is at to whether you will be affected or not. You will receive a nil tax code for the rest of the financial year so your payroll department may realise what is happening.
I would check either via your intranet system, check with your contract of employment or make an anonymous phone call to your HR department.
