I started a part time business as a sole trader a few years ago, worked for about 1.5 years, i decided to stop self employment, went on benefits for a while and then started a new job.
When i was self employed i didnt really make money and was just managing to pay the rent and hp car hire, bills etc and could never say i had a gauranteed income every month. Anyhow i never had the money to pay tax for this time and basically in Inland Revenue want estimates of £7773 off me.
I cannot prove my income for my time as self employed and basically even when i was employed i recieved letter from the Inland Revenue with larger bills, fees, interest etc.
In short i dont have the money to pay it, and im being yaken to court in 3 weeks. Im very worried and have buried my head in the sand and am considering not turing up on the day. I am so distracted by this im not thinking normally and feel prison is coming my way.
Can anyone offerme advise please.

Chances are if it ends up in court they will declare you bankrupt.
