Posted - 02 September 2009 : 12:14:17 I have just had a valuation on my home with a view to buying the beneficial interest and it cost £130. Having just spoken to someone at the OR office she told me that they needed 2 valutions. I told her that I could not afford to get another valuation at £130- £150 a time, and she said that she did not realise they were that much, which I find hard to beleive. She then told me to put it in writing and she would pass this on.
I know I could get a free valuation with an estate agent by telling them I am considering selling the property but I am worried that they will pester me after and I am not very good at lying.
Any ideas what I should say when I write to them, with regard to not getting another valuation because of the cost.
Thanks

I would try to get an estate agent valuation. You could tell them you have a job offer away, and want to sell the property quickly. If the job offer then falls through you won't want to move.
