Hi, All...
Having been given early discharge...what should i do now regarding my credit files?. I am aware that it takes 6 years for the nasty bits to drop off my file, but i think i need to do something to make sure this happens??..
I also know that i can use certain `high interst` cards to help repair my history, should i so wish.

Of cousre...i NEVER want to be back where i was, as i remember to well, the worry of owing over 50k. just over 6 months ago....but i MIGHT need a decent car e.t.c, sometime in the future.

Many thanks..

Have a look at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?s=cb2f11b2c3b30cb86f39aa7acf342114&t=677875

It explains how to clean up your credit file and what to do if some creditors don't update the file correctly or within a reasonable time.

There's no harm in getting a high interest card to help build your credit file but just remember to setup a direct debit to pay the full amount off each month.

You've got plenty of time yet though as it will take another 5 1/2 yrs for the current creditors to drop off your file.
