Hello all

Just wanted some reassurance. My husband and I were discharged from Bankruptcy on 27/08/2009 but today we both got a letter chasing for money for the balance of our mortgage shortfall after repossession. We have heard nothing from them since the bankruptcy and the repossession shortfall even though we did not know how much it would be was written on our bankrupcy paper work.

My husband called the collection agency and advised them of our bankruptcy and gave them the OR details, I have also emailed the OR to ask them to contact this company to make sure they do not keep chasing us

Please can someone confirm to me that we do not owe this money as this was quite a shock after now being dischraged and thinking this was all behind us and just brings back all the awful memories of the past year that we thought were over. I would hate to think we had gone through all of that to find that we still owe for a house that we are no longer even living in and was the main reason why we went bankrupt

Please can an expert confirm that we do not owe this money and advise if there is anything else that we need to do to ensure this company gets the message

thank you

Christina

Thank you both for your responces, you have helped to put my mind at ease, it is nice to hear somone else say what I believe is true- it just throws you off when you see these letters start coming again and makes you wonder if you had misunderstood at the time and now owe the money! I am glad that does not seem to be the case though

Thanks again

Your shortfall should have been included in your BR.

I don't think you have anything to worry about.

The glimmer gets brighter all the time

hi i'm nearly a week away from discharge and i recieved a letter asking for money phoned them and gave br number and details and they were fine i would say that if it is in your bankrptcy then you do not have to pay as this is why you did it in the first place but it can be disheartning to recieve these letters still.
hope things work out ok
