Posted - 03 October 2009 : 11:50:08 Hi, went bankrupt last Friday and have my telephone OR interview on Tuesday morning. I dropped all the paperwork off yesterday and have given as much advanced info as possible. I was just wondering how long it is before my creditors are informed officially. We have unplugged the phone at home but people are starting to ring at work for me. The OR has said not to deal with anyone direct so I havent spoken to them but I really didnt want people at work knowing my business. Is it OK to send a copy of my bankrupt petition to people so that they can see my bankruptcy is genuine or should I speak to them. Stomach still churning, thought the court would be bad enough but this is causing more stress than that did lol |

Posted - 03 October 2009 : 22:06:01 I sent a copy of my BR order to one of my creditors and it stopped them from calling. If it stops the hassle then it's worth doing.
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Posted - 03 October 2009 : 12:00:37 Hi, what the OR should have said is that you don't have to speak to them rater than you shouldn't. It is OK to send a copy of the BO to them. As regards talking to them, thats up to you, some people don't because of the stress but others knowing that the debts are now covered by the BO do to get them to stop calling |
