Posted - 12 November 2009 : 22:30:52 Hi,
I have been made bankrupt but did not include a debt to my previous employer for an annual travel ticket.
Can I still include this in the bankruptcy ?
Should I send a copy of the bankruptcy order to my previous employer and inform the insolvency service ?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Posted - 14 November 2009 : 23:53:24 as long as you cooperate with the requests of the OR he is unlikely to extend your period of BR regardless of where you are in the world

Posted - 13 November 2009 : 17:16:42 Thanks for the advice Richard
Hopefully I'm going to find a job in China
I'm worried that the OR will impose more penalties on me or delay my discharge if I move to China, could this be the case ?

Posted - 13 November 2009 : 15:29:09 Hi alex
go for the job.
speak to the OR dealing with your case as you will see from some of the threads they are immersed in work. let them know your time frames and contact details.
if your case is straight forward they may not even want to interview you.
My wife had 1 hr phone interview with OR then 2 hr face to face interview about 2 weeks later.
Good luck with the job blue sky somewhere nice ? |

Posted - 13 November 2009 : 15:14:02 Thanks for responding to me so quickly Dave.
I have a different question but as I am knew to the site I am unsure exactly where to post, so have tried just replying.
I am currently unemployed and was made bankrupt nearly 2 weeks ago. I am unable to find work and am considering the possibility of applying for work abroad. I had a brief interview with somebody at the Insolvency Service on the day of the bankruptcy, he said that I would need to come back in 3 months which would mean early February.
It may be possible for me to obtain work abroad which starts in February. I have been told to cooperate with the Insolvency Service and am unsure whether asking if my interview could take place in January (instead of February) so that I can work abroad in February will be seen as not cooperating.
Any advice on this issue would greatly appreciated.

Posted - 13 November 2009 : 01:08:30 hi and welcome to the forum you should inform the OR dealing with your case of any unsecured debts that have not been on your SOA, it should be a provable debt , only fines student loans CSA payments and TV licence arrears are not included if your previous employer contacts you re this debt , inform him of your status and tell him to contact your OR
