Hello,

I wonder if anyone could advise me on this please?

I have been paying an IPA of £241 per month since July this year, however my partner is currently awaiting tests from the hospital and it looks likely that he will be on half pay from next month. This is really worrying as this will severly affect our disposable income during a time when stressing about money is the last thing we need on top of the medical worries. As my partner is not included in the bankruptcy, is there any chance I could write a letter to moonbeever and explain the financial difficulties we are experiencing at present and ask them to consider lowering the IPA until the situation improves?

Thanks for your help.

it may be better to contact Moonbeaver before you start "struggling" as the reassessment will take up time which may further your "struggling"
if you have a good idea what the difference in wages and therefore household income is going to be i would be contacting them now.
conversely if your were about to receive an increase in wages i would wait until you have received the increase before contacting them!!

Don't worry or know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum.(Baz Lurman)
RevivaUK helped me through it all i can't recommend them enough!!

Thanks Skippy and debtinfo,

Relieved to know changes can be made. The last thing I want to worry about is struggling to cope financially on top of worrying about my partner's illness. His work hasn't actually altered his payments yet, so I will wait until that happens before I contact Moonbeever and ask them to reassess the IPA.

Thanks for your kind words, Skippy. I'm sure he'll be fine, its just the not knowing stage thats the worst.

Have a good day.

yep , when they set the IPA it takes in to account the whole household income , so you can ask for it to be reassessed, ie his income goes down therefore his contribution to the household expenses goes down, therefore your share of the household expenditure goes up, therefore you have less surplus, therefore a lower IPA

I've got a similar problem at the moment as my self employed partner has been ill and hasn't been working at all. I've been advised that if we are struggling to contact Moon Beaver and ask for the payments to be reassessed.

I hope your partner is ok x

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
