How much detail do they require on the forms . We have been trying to work out where all the money has gone but cannot by no way account for all of it . There are obvious things like holidays, a garage on our house, lots of home improvement , wedding but that still leaves a large amount unaccounted for ? Do you need to give exact dates for things ?

Any advice ? Thank you in advance !

when it comes to expenditure , debt consolidation, general living expenses are acceptable reasons for amounts of money that you can't really explain after listing what you know you spent the money on.
the OR is only really interested in reckless spending in the knowledge of non repayment or spending on gambling.
The forms do not have to be too detailed as the OR will likely go through the debts in the Interview

Hi Caroline,

Just to share my experience;

I completed the SOA with a friend (a business client!!). We did it in a few hours as we went to the County Court on a Monday afternoon (after deciding BR was right after an IP had said in thje morning - only way forward) and there was a slot in the judges listing for the next morning!! We did it though...

I gave as much detail as I could recall - statements were consulted etc - so the sums were as accurate as they could reasonably be. Went to the CC - saw the DJ for two minutes and then went to see the OR straight away - appointment made there and then! (Does not happen now as they are soooooo busy!)

I then had my proper interview in a couple of weeks after and the examiner said we will amend things as we go along - so I guess what I am saying is do NOT worry too much as the OR will get there by his/her own route.

Good luck - I am sure an expert will post with more authorative detail - I am just trying to put you at ease!

Regards, Richard x
