Posted - 19 November 2009 : 18:27:34 Hi
As they are technically property of the bank you should offer them to the bank first, if they dont want them (which they probably wont) you should cut them up (through the chip) and send them to the OR |

Posted - 19 November 2009 : 17:16:21 In my case the OR asked for me to send any bank/debt/credit cards to them but I had already cut them up so there was no problem.
If oyu are planning to declare BR in the near future then I would recommend cutting the cards up now. |

Posted - 19 November 2009 : 16:00:47 Hi Steve
I cannot add much to the advice already given.
I took my credit cards to the OR (having first of all cut them in two!!)
Good luck, Richard

What I should have also mentioned is that after they are in your Statement of Affairs then you can no longer use them. The Official Receiver will advise you as to what to do with the physical cards.

Posted - 19 November 2009 : 15:55:38 If you file for bankruptcy ALL unsecured debts which you owe as at the date of the bankruptcy are included - whether they are credit cards, loans, store cards, catalogues - if it is a debt you personally owe, it is included in the bankruptcy
Hope this helps

When you go bankrupt all of your credit cards and store cards (assuming you owe money on them all) should go down on your Statement of Affairs as debts.
Hope that helps.
All the best,
