Hi,

I went BR last week and applied for an Abbey basic account a few days ago and told them I was BR (it asks on the form). Phoned the branch in the afternoon, they said it had been approved. I am waiting for the paperwork to come through, hopefully in the next couple of days. I'm not holding my breathe though as maybe HQ will reject me.

Its worth a try. I'll keep you updated.

Hi,

I have a Basic Cash Card Account with Abbey. Basically I can get my wages paid into it, and drawer money out over the counter and from a cash machiine, but you cannot a) have an overdraft or b) do direct debits etc....

You may be lucky and get offered a normal account with them, but at the mo I think they are just doing the Cash Card....

Thanks

Hi
I'm sure think banking would oblige if all else fails but you might try Abbey first.
