My daughter has bought the BI in our car and is now technically the legal owner. I am still the registered keeper and will be using it all the time, does anyone know whether I have to inform my insurance company of this fact?

I would check the fine print on the policy very, very carefully as insurances companies will do anything to get out of paying out after an accident.

Having said that they are only normally interested in the register keeper of the vehicle but I would still check the policy.

You should also check to see if there are any BR clauses in the policy as well as there can be with some companies.

Thanks for the reply. Another question I have is it right that the person buying the BI of the car becomes the legal owner?

Yep, your daughter will be the legal owner and you are the registered keeper as your name is on the V5 document.
