I am currently unemployed and about to go into Bankruptcy. If I wanted to retrain in debt advice / insolvency (previously in sales), what courses would be the best ones to consider and would a BR order prevent me from entering accountancy / insolvency as a career.

I am receiving JSA & Mortgage Interest payments, would they be affected whilst I study?

Thank you for any help you can give.

Many thanks,

David

Hi

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry to learn that you are unemployed at present but pleased to see you are looking at a career in debt management.

Might I suggest that you log onto the CAB national website and then link to the nearest CAB office to you to see if they want any volunteers at present.

That could start you on the road to see if debt management is right for you. It could also possibly lead to employment with the CAB as vacancies occur.

I am sure other experts will post with suggestions and I wish you good luck with the search for work and with your bankruptcy.

Richard

Hi Richard,

Many thanks for the advice and encouragement. I am still in the early stages of research but definitely have a keen interest in Insolvency. I am hopeful that with a sales background and experience of managing my own debt problem, I will be able to find work which will utilize these skills.

I will let you know how I get on.

Thanks again,

David
