I will be going bankrupt and my ex-husband has claimed the family car back.

My sister has offered me a car to use for a while.

She has bought the car and the log book is her name.

The problem is the car insurance. She asked for insurance in her name with me as named driver, but they said it needed to be in my name since it will be parked at my house.

So is it ok for it to be in my name?

If not then, do we say it is at her house even though it will be here?

Also how can i claim the insurance as an allowable expense if it is in her name? I will have to pay the insurance, not fair for her to when I am using the car.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Anna

it is ok for the car to be in your name, when you go BR make sure you tell the OR that the car is in your name for insurance purposes and you do not own it but just have the use of it
if the insurance is in your name you can claim it as an allowble expense if you are only a named driver i believe you can only claim a % of it
