                      | following on from my post yesterday, i had a brief conversation with the OR in northampton today. she let me keep my 13 year old bike which is not worth a lot but she wants details of how i got into debt and exactly what i spent on the credit cards. i am ok with explaining how i got into debt but i kept no statements and cannot remember what i spent on which card.
it is worrying that she wants to know exactly what i bought on each card as i have no idea, what will she do if i cannot answer her ??

                      | Hi Rob
Just tell her what you can - she won't need exact details, just generalisations, and she won't need to know what you spent on each card - just how the debts accrued - e.g roughly what you spent on food/household things, holidays, gifts etc

You can't tell them what you don't know, so just explain what you can

                      | well that was painless, the call lasted 35 minutes and the OR so pleasant and helpful even though i was nervous. she went through all my details, asked questions and even though i could only answer them with approximate dates and ammounts everything went well.
no ipo and no bro and she said discharge in 12 months or 8 if they could sort the paperwork sooner.
i feel so much better now :-)

                      | Glad to hear it went well. The ORs are normally pretty decent and non-judgmental but it is always a relief once the interview is over and you feel that you can get on with your life again. |

                      | Hi Rob,
My OR was also in Northampton and I must say, she was very relaxed and the telephone interview was nowhere near as traumatic as I thought it would be. She let me keep my old car for a minimum payment and although I ended up with an IPA, it is nowhere near the amount I was paying on my debt before I declared myself bankrupt. I must admit I have dealt with RTLU since and they tend to be much harsher in my opinion and will want every extra penny whereas the OR seemed much more lenient, particularly if you pay into an IPA and you have a little extra income on an irregular basis. From the experiences, I won't go via RTLU anymore, just Moonbeever and the OR.

                      | So glad you had a positive experience, and importantly came onboard to let others know. So many people are petrified by the thought of speaking to the OR - but it is never as bad as they thought!
Heres wishing you a debt free future! Melanie
