Cheque Book

I currently have a Coop Cashminder account but now I have been discharged from bankruptcy I would like to get an account with a cheque book (my kids schools insist on cheques for a whole load of things). Does anybody know of an account that will provide one for someone with a very poor credit rating?

Unfortunately I think you'll have to wait until the BR drops off your credit file. I don't know of any bank that will offer a full account with a cheque book to a recently discharged BR.

Hi
Norwich and Peterborough Gold Basic Account holds a visa debit card and cheque book, they accept discharged bankrupts but you need to ring them to get an account open as the internet will just reject

Bear in mind that they don't have many branches, so unless you can use the Post Office (I don't know if you can) banking could be a problem.

No post office banking but apparently you can pay money in via cooperative banks

Which are very few and far between...

You'd think it would be in their interest to come to an arrangement with the Post Office as I'm sure they'd get a lot more customers.
