Looking at posts re the Co-Op cashmimder account

I am planning to petitoin b/r - is it right that you hav to wait until you are declared b/rt to be able to open a new account - for example with the Co-Op?

Thanks Janet

No you can open an account before you petition BR just tell the OR the first time you speak to them.

They say live is one big party, only i´ve lost my invitation.

Hi

The Cashminder account is, in my view, the best of its kind and the staff are BR friendly

Hi bettleman - you are invited to my party... Do not lose it!!

Getting mixed messages - I can or cannot open a new account before making myself bankrupt?

Thanks again

Hi Janet,

I opened a cashminder account a month before I declared bankruptcy. I mentioned it to the manager at the branch that I was intending to go insolvent, just in case there would be any problem and he said that was fine, the account was exactly the right one and there was no problem in setting it up.
