I'm an undischagred BR of 5months and I've just renewed my mobile phone contract with T mobile. The deal I have signed up to was £35.00 per month for 18 months.
I've just read a post below (orange mobile phone contract)that says I have now obtained credit of more than £500.00. I never classed this as credit and thought nothing of renewing because I already had a contract in place at the time of my BR. There was no problem in dealing with T mobile and they do not know I am BR.
Question is what should I do now? any ideas? and more importantly will this get me in trouble?
You have an obligation to tell your mobile provider if you are taking credit for over £500 that you are an undischarged bankrupt. Certainly if they had carried out a credit check on you, it would have flagged up. I suggest that you are honest and inform them. If they really want to keep your business, they can reduce the length of the contract by a few months or continue on the same basis. These things have a habiit of coming back to haunt you.
