New to bankruptcy, help please! I need going bankrupt this year but I am confused about a few things. I am self employed but work through a contractor so my wages are paid to me via cheque every month but the amount varies. How do I explain my income when I work out my expenditure? How do I prove my income to the when I do not have a wage slip? I only have bank statements. Also after I have the forms from the courts, how do I get a date for the hearing? Do I just take everything back to the courts with the fee on any day and they tell me when to come back?
I live with my partner but she only earns just over 100 per week. I am worried that some bills that are in my name, like my internet contract will have to go in her name or else it will be cut off as it is not used for business purposes, can we do this? What are the guideline amounts for living expenditure, do I have to include my partners wages too? Two of my debts are for tax and N.I that, they are threatening to make me bankrupt but I cant wait for them to do it. Will this debt be removed by the bankruptcy? As I am self employed and my partner is working, what is the chance of me having to pay something back during the banruptcy period? From what we have worked out we are insolvent, we dont buy clothes and can barely afford to eat not every bill is paid every month, inluding some of her bills. We cannot go bankrupt together, she went bankrupt a few years ago but her debts have grown again because of my debts. But we cant both go bankrupt as we would lose basic things like direct debit facilities which we need to pay things like the car insurance. Things like the insurance are proving hard to know what to do with as the car is in her name but I pay the insurance through my bank but I know I am going to lose my account. Do I still put this down as an expenditure when it changes to her account? As you can tell we are in quite a fix and your guidance on the above would be gratefully appreciated.
