I was advised to make a petition for my own bankrupsy in Oct last year. I was charged £100 and told everything would be back to normal in a year. But I am now being sent CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS forms to fill in, followed by documents asking for proof of weekly expenditure. Is this normal.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Who told you to do this? BR cost a lot more than £100 even last year.

You would have had to attend court and have an interview with the Official receiver and possibly, depending upon your disposable income, an income payment agreement for three years.

Could you have done a Debt Relief Order rather than bankruptcy?

Hi Alison,

If it's a DRO or BR, then it does sound normal that you have been asked to prove expenditure.
