| This might be a tricky one, as the person involved lives in Malaysia. My friend owes around 360,000 ringit, around £70,000. Lost the money through working for a stock brokers, nearly 10 years ago. He says he is trying to pay the money back, I keep telling him to look into bankruptcy but seems to ignore this. Because of this debt his passport has been taken away from him, what I would like to know is if he was working for a company is he liable to pay the money back and if he goes bankrupt would he be able to have his passport back? Any bit of info would help, I'm sure he is not telling me the whole story but he seems very lost in the situation. Thanks. |

Hi Mel.ma,
He would need to have a look at insolvency in Malaysia. Unfortunately I've no idea how it works there but I did google it and there are a few websites for you to look at if you do the same.
