Hi wildercrazy3 - welcome to the forum One of the BR assist experts will be on line soon to advise you on this matter. I'm afraid I didn't own a property when I went BR. Hang in there - one will be online soon.

You will have the first year's grace to make alternative living arrangements, after which the Trustee can commence bankruptcy proceedings - but this is only likely if you have equity in your property.

Of course you can. Even the Official Reciever recognises that people deserve a break from work for a modest family holiday.

Hi Wildercrazy.
What is the situation rgarding the property? Don't automatically assume that you will lose the property in BR, as it's often not the case!

Hi wildercrazy3 Do you have any equity in your property, and do you wish to stay? This is a falling housing market at the moment, and if you have little or no equity you could have a third party buy the beneficial interest for £1 plus conveyancing costs of around £250. If you default on the mortgage, with 3 months arrears the bank can apply for repossession and they do not have to give you 12 months grace.
