Hello everybody. I haven't posted for ages. I have had to re-register, lol, so slightly different user name. I was discharged in April 2010 and finished my IPA in July of 2012. Such a sense of relief. I have received a letter today from OR's office saying they are issuing a deposit refund to my father as their records state he funded for my BR. I presume this is because he helped paidd my court fees of £525 which I think was the amount in 2009. Does this mean he will be combined with all my other debtors and the 36 months accumulated funds will be divided pro rata and paid back to them? My Dad, who is now 80, was such a source of support to me and never judged me. I would love it if I could surprise him if he was to get this back? Hello to Skippy and others who were such an immense support to me in 2009 and onwards. I am now very settled in my rented home and living life within my means. :-)
I just want to say also, that three and a bit years on I have come through it. A hard journey but I have never been happier. Gave up my house and moved into rented. I was so scared then but all has worked out. BR should never be treated lightly but it was a life-line for me. I have learned so much over the years and have emerged far stronger.
If your Father wasn't named as a creditor, it will just be the bankruptcy deposit that he will get back. If he was a creditor on your bankruptcy SOA, then he may get his fair share from the IPA, depending on if there was any money to distribute to creditors.
The more I have to do with humans the more I think that the world would be a better place if it was run by animals.
Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 and I'm now looking forward to getting married in September 2012 - I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side.
