Well i've done it. i went bankrupt at 1pm today and it was really strange. i felt like crying but i think it was just relief rather than anything else.
i sat there across from my manager as he checked the paperwork and i didn't have to see the judge and that was it.
i am now trying to get my address withheld because of the type of work i do and the people we deal with. i really would be scared of anyone finding out my home address.
but there we are. it really was painless but a little uncomfortable but it's done and the OR office have just rung (that was quick) to set up a telephone interview next week. i just hope they accept my expenditure and let me keep my car, only worth about £800 and need it to get daughter to school and then to work on time (public transport just wouldn't get me there on time).
So again thank you to everyone who has replied to any of my numerous queries and questions. i will let you know what happens with the OR.
Thats great news liney30. I go bankrupt on the 15th August and am just completing my paperwork at the moment. I am also going to request that my details aren't published due to other personal reasons.
You will have to let us know what your allowances were and how the interview went!
We had OR interview yesterday (I'll add the details in a bit) and our situation with our car is quite similar.Ours is worth £1800 but we need it to take our daughter to school and also I need it to get to work early in the morning.
Anyway,the OR during interview has already said she has no interest in our car and will write to us shortly to confirm this.
thanks notsobrightspark that gives me hope that they will let me keep mine. would be really interested in what they allowed on your expenditure if you don't mind sharing
thanks kramsenrab. i will let you know how i get on. fingers crossed. i just hope they accept what i put down for expenditure but even if they don't i will still be better off than before.
