moving out of mortgaged flat next week. not planning on paying mortgage and including shortfall in soa. what do i do with the keys. can i keep them until this place is repossessed.
also need to read gas electric etc, will the balances which are about £400 in joint name with ex (just had meters read) pay £100 direct debit all transfer in my name to rented address and do i just put this direct debit down on income and expenditure sheet and would it be allowed being prior to any bankruptcy. or because its prior to bankruptcy will the bills need to be paid off before i start new acc with gas and electricity in my name only. i dont want to move into new place and start having meters put in as landlord i dont think would be very pleased...i can in the rented house afford the monthly pymt.
sorry to be a pain but these questions just keep coming into my head
The choice is yours re the keys but as you still own the property until repossession I would hang onto them. I presume you've not informed any secured or unsecured creditors of your new address so it would be wise to collect your mail each week so you'll need access.
Re the utilities, as I understand it your accounts with the suppliers should rest with you not the address so just advise them of the readings at both the old and new properties and ask to carry on with your £100 month DD. Of course you would then list £100 for this on your SoA.
not told the creditors anything as wont start missing payment till 1st sept so wont be here to take their calls presume the nasty letters will start tho. dont think any of the companies have my work no - if so are they allowed to call you at work.
if someone does not pay the mortgage after 3 month i understand this gets repossessed.when repossession starts does it go to court and do i need to go. or is it just repossessed and then owned by the building society
some will try to get away with calling you at work if they have the necessary contact details but this is illegal so it can be easily stopped.
Once you pick the letter up from your flat, stating the time and date of the repossession hearing, that's the time to post the keys back via recorded delivery.
