Hi there,

My wife has 2 direct debits for loans that come out of my bank account but because its not a joint bank account and just in my name should i omit them from my BR form as my wife isn't going BR.

This would obviously show up in my bank statements as would the deposits needed to cover the 2 loans.

The 2 loans go to my wifes mum and wifes friend so no documentation exists.

thanks,
andy

Hi Andy,

If the loans are not yours then I would assume that you dont add them in, but dont quote me on that one.

When you do the SoA put it on the additional info bit about that on the end.
Q. Did you say you pay them each month or that it purely comes from your sole account.

Obviously the OR many ask so you would just have to explain that if your account is only being used to provide the convienence of a DD facility then it may be ok.

I dont know if i helped at all or whether i just talked about a load of nonsense but I dare say John or someone may be able to offer more advice.

TTFN
Jo

So Andy,
Your account is used purely to pay someone else's debt/loan as they dont have an account of their own. Is this right?

Andy,
So in that case you should be able to prove that the monies are coming in and all your doing is paying it out, but not from your own money, purely doing them a favour, thats all.
As for writing it on the SoA I would just add a note at the end as your not actually paying it just mearly obliging the use of your account per month. The debts that are being paid dont have your name on so I would say you should be fine.
If however the debts that your paying are joint then you would have to add them in, even if it is your wife who is technically paying.
I dont know if I made any sense then.
Hope this helps. Like I said this is how I would see it, if im wrong John or someone would correct me.
Thanks
Jo
