Hi my wife says she's going bankrupt putting all our debts to me. we have separated for 18 months. could my girlfriends home or any of her credit be affected if i was to move in and live with her? paul

Hi

Only the debts in joint names will fall to you. So typically joint bank accounts and jointcredit cards / loans.

Your girlfriends home is not at risk provided you didn't put any deposit into it or if you have zero interest in it.

if youhave to go br eventually then you can get your names disassociated so there should then be no effect on her. this is done via the credit reference agencies.
